AmpLight turns off streetlights during Earth Hour Copenhagen

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

The AmpLight solution is responsible for turning Copenhagen streetlights on and off at the excact right times every day. Tonight, it is used during Earth Hour Copenhagen, an initiative of the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) that encourages Copenhageners to turn the lights off from 7 p.m to 8 p.m.

Gert Poulsen from Eltel Networks, responsible for streetlights in Copenhagen, confirms that select locations in the city center will be left in the dark for one hour.

AmpLight makes it easy to control individual areas and make special settings for any time period.

The purpose of the Earth Hour campaign in Copenhagen is to send a signal to the COP15 delegates to sign the new climate deal.
