AARHUS, Jan. 26, 2010 – Amplex announced on Jan. 26 that they are launching a new, entry-level addition to their AmpLight family. AmpLight Solo offers simple control of streetlight and outdoor lighting installations with a safe SMS message system that allows users to turn streetlights on and off, and receive alarms on mobile phones.
“With this new solution, our customers get a low-cost entry solution with our well-known, reliable communication facilities built in. Using SMS messages, there is no expensive investment in server equipment, and still users can manage their lights,“ says Amplex CSO J. Severin Jensen.

A pre-programmed communications module is installed in every control cabinet, which ensures that the light is turned on and off at the right times, based on a twilight table or a connected photocell.

The daily operation of the streetlight or outdoor lighting system is handled without user intervention. If the user needs to change the settings, this is done with SMS programming. No site visits are necessary, and each control cabinet can be controlled individually, allowing for area differentiation of the light settings.

“The AmpLight Solo solution is an excellent entry point for customers with smaller installations, or for projects that require the most basic functionalities. It is fast to configure and the initial investment is low. Later on, if the customer wants to add more functionalities to their system, they can upgrade AmpLight Solo to one of our more advanced solutions, without even making a field trip”, states J. Severin Jensen.
