Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Amplex A/S was among the participants when a new Smart Grid network was launched this Monday.

The network has been initiated by Climate and Energy Minister Lykke Friis. When the network was launched, the Minister stated: “I look forward to discussing the prospects for Smart Grid with a wide selection of professionals. It is essential for the expansion of the power grid that we discuss all possibilities at this stage.”

In addition to Amplex, a number of other Smart Grid companies and interest groups also participate in the network, including IBM, The Danish Energy Association, The Danish Consumer Council and The Danish Energy Industries Federation.

In the new Smart Grid network, the participants are asked to deliver tangible suggestions on how to implement Smart Grid technology. Additionally, they will focus on clarifying which actions are required politically and specifying what the industry can deliver in order to implement an intelligent power grid in Denmark.

The Smart Grid network has been divided into four task groups within specific areas of Smart Grid implementation. Amplex participates in the group that discusses intelligence in the power grid and consumer services.

Amplex CEO, Jens Hørup, is enthusiastic about the Minister’s initiative. After the initial meeting he stated: “The network is an excellent initiative, and I find it very encouraging that the Minister has invited a number of experienced participants that can draw on past experiences with real projects. It will be an exciting process where we can offer ideas and suggestions for the development and implementation of the intelligent power grid in Denmark.”
