AARHUS, Feb. 9, 2010 – Amplex announced on Feb. 9 an agreement with Danish energy company SEAS-NVE to improve streetlight efficiency in SEAS-NVE’s region.

In recent years, SEAS-NVE has strengthened their position as leading suppliers of outdoor lighting. With efficient surveillance of e.g. streetlights, SEAS-NVE ensures high quality and reduced energy consumption.

“Streetlights make up a not insignificant amount of a municipality’s total energy budget. It makes quite a difference if we are able to cut 10% off this expense by optimizing the burn hours”, explains Niels-Erik Hansen, Key Account Manager at SEAS-NVE.

He continues: “With climate change high on the agenda, we need to keep focusing on how to reduce carbon emissions through energy efficiency programs”.

With the Amplex AmpLight solution for controlling streetlights, SEAS-NVE can optimize the on and off times of their streetlights very precisely and ensure that the streetlights are turned on according to national road authority guidelines.

SEAS-NVE tracks streetlight operation and performance data on a central server, and receives alarms in case of problems.

Within the next few months, SEAS-NVE will be able to adjust individual stretches of streetlight to Energy Savings Mode. This offers excellent opportunities for customizing the light levels according to the actual, local requirements throughout the night, leading to both cost and energy savings.
