Aarhus is Denmark's second largest city.

The city of smiles.
Aarhus buzzes with life and is known as the city of smiles. The atmosphere is strongly influenced by the 30,000 students who attend the university.

Beautiful surroundings.
The region provides the perfect setting for combining work and play. The coastline has numerous marinas and beaches, a gently rolling landscape with 13 golf courses and a large forest and lake district.

Cultural experiences.
Culture is high on the agenda with numerous festivals and events, including the annual Aarhus Festival Week. ARoS, the city’s internationally acclaimed art museum, is an experience in itself.

Technological frontrunner.
Computing is a strong field in the Aarhus region, ranging from embedded software, next generation web technology and pervasive computing to medical imaging and man-machine interaction.

IT Center.
At Katrinebjerg IT City, in the northern part of Aarhus, a 100,000 m2 IT center is emerging. The IT center houses a wide range of research facilities, an entrepreneurial center and various businesses and university departments.

A strong research environment.
The Aarhus region is a frontrunner among educational and research environments, home to world leaders in a number of research areas including medicine, computer sciences (pervasive computing) and molecular biology and nanotechnology. In cooperation with Danish national research institutes, a range of companies in Aarhus conducts important research and development in areas such as biotechnology, medicine, IT and environmental science.
