Amplex A/S is a Danish-based company with headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city. Since we were founded in 2001, we have experienced exceptional growth. Our local business has been grown to be a global player within utility intelligence. To date, we have installed our solutions in 15 countries.

We originated on the basis of a good idea. The national Danish telco had decided to close its pager system. This caused problems for a number of municipalities who were controlling their streetlights through the pager communications network. Amplex introduced a solution that used GSM technology to provide two-way communications with street cabinets, enabling monitoring and control facilities. Today, the Amplex AmpLight™ solution, controls several million streetlights on most continents, including half of all Danish streetlights.

In 2010, the AmpLight™ solution was sold to Philips, allowing Amplex to focus on energy intelligence for utility companies.

Our focus areas now include Smart Grid solutions, advanced metering infrastructures, and energy management systems.

Our mission is to be a world leader in Energy Intelligence. Helping cities and utilities to intelligently monitor and control their assets, we help achieve greener cities, higher-quality services and dramatically lower costs.

Our solutions have unlimited scalability and are built on open platforms. With a modular, carrier-neutral platform, we provide real-time data from the field.

Along with a constantly growing partner network, we have established a global presence and a solid experience in implementing energy efficient solutions in any environment.
